At the table, keep your hands visible above the table rather than resting your elbows on it, wait for everyone to be served before starting, and say "Guten Appetit" before eating. Meals are usually orderly and unhurried, with punctuality and quiet conversation valued, and in restaurants it is normal to ask for the bill when you are ready instead of expecting it automatically.
