Bargaining Etiquette in Germany

Bargaining is generally not expected in Germany, especially in shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and most services, where prices are fixed and haggling can come across as awkward or pushy. The main exceptions are flea markets, private secondhand sales, and some car dealerships or larger purchases, where a brief, polite negotiation is acceptable if you keep it modest and matter-of-fact.
