Tipping Etiquette in Eritrea

Tipping is not expected in Eritrea, and in many everyday places such as small cafés, taxis, and local eateries, rounding up or leaving a small extra amount is enough if you want to show appreciation. In higher-end hotels or restaurants that cater to visitors, a modest tip may be welcomed, but service charges are not always built into the bill and locals generally do not treat tipping as a fixed obligation.
