Smoking is fairly common in Cambodia, especially among men, but you should still avoid lighting up in homes, temples, schools, hospitals, and on public transport unless a designated area is clearly allowed. In restaurants, markets, and cafés, people may smoke more casually than in many Western countries, yet it is polite to ask first and to be mindful around elders and monks.
