LGBTQ Etiquette in Cambodia

Public displays of LGBTQ affection are usually kept discreet in Cambodia, especially outside Phnom Penh and tourist areas, because many people still expect same-sex relationships to be private rather than openly discussed. At the same time, gender-nonconforming people are visible in everyday life and in entertainment, and visitors who are polite, low-key, and avoid making a scene are generally treated with more tolerance than in many neighboring countries.
