Bargaining Etiquette in Austria

Bargaining is generally not expected in Austria, especially in shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and taxis, where prices are usually fixed and asking for a discount can feel out of place. The main exceptions are flea markets, private sales, and some small family-run businesses, where a polite, modest negotiation may be accepted if done quietly and without pressure.
