Use formal titles and surnames when addressing people you do not know well, especially older adults, officials, and business contacts, and wait to be invited to use first names. In Uzbek and Russian settings, respectful forms like aka for an older man or opa for an older woman may be used in conversation, and in more formal situations people often add patronymics or honorifics rather than speaking too casually.
