Gender Norms Etiquette in Russia

Public life in Russia is still fairly traditional, so men are often expected to hold doors, offer seats, and take the lead in formal or romantic settings, while women may be treated with more old-fashioned courtesy. At the same time, urban workplaces and younger people are more egalitarian, but open discussion of gender roles can still feel conservative compared with many Western countries.
