Clothing Etiquette in Laos

Dress modestly, especially in villages, temples, and government buildings: cover shoulders and knees, and avoid very tight or revealing clothes. In everyday life people dress simply and neatly, while at formal events or ceremonies you may see the sinh, the traditional wrap skirt worn by many Lao women.
