Bargaining Etiquette in Laos

Bargaining is common in markets, tuk-tuk rides, and with informal vendors, but it should stay friendly and modest rather than aggressive. In tourist areas you can usually negotiate a little, while in fixed-price shops, restaurants, and supermarkets the price is generally not expected to change.
