Recycling Etiquette in Kyrgyzstan

Recycling is still limited in Kyrgyzstan, so travelers should not expect the kind of widespread curbside sorting found in many European countries; in cities, people usually separate bottles, paper, and metal only when special collection points or private recycling bins are available. In practice, the norm is to reduce waste and reuse bags and containers where possible, while informal waste pickers and small buy-back centers handle much of the actual recycling.
