Alcohol Etiquette in Kyrgyzstan

Alcohol is widely available and socially accepted in Kyrgyzstan, especially in cities and at celebrations, but it is still polite to drink moderately and avoid getting visibly drunk in mixed or family settings. In rural areas and during religious occasions, some people abstain, so it is best to wait for your host to offer drinks and to accept or decline quietly rather than making a fuss.
