Public life is still fairly traditional, so men are often expected to take the lead in conversation, decision-making, and paying in social settings, while women may be treated more formally and with extra deference. In cities you will see more mixed-gender workplaces and modern attitudes, but in rural areas and family gatherings older expectations about modest dress, separate seating, and women’s domestic roles can still be noticeable.
