Toilets Etiquette in Iran

Many public and older homes in Iran still use squat toilets, so travelers should be ready to see both squat and Western-style toilets and carry tissues or a small pack of paper because toilet paper is not always provided. In mosques, roadside rest stops, and traditional places, a water hose or bidet-style sprayer is common, and it is normal to clean yourself with water rather than rely only on paper.
