Tipping Etiquette in Iran

Tipping is not expected in Iran, and in many everyday settings a small extra amount is simply rounded up or politely refused rather than treated as a standard obligation. In restaurants, taxis, and hotels, locals may leave a modest gratuity for good service, but it is usually discretionary and modest because service charges are often already included or the price is negotiated informally.
