sacred groves in Ghana, stay on marked paths, ask before entering community-managed areas, and avoid littering or taking shells, plants, or stones without permission. Many places are protected by local custom as well as law, and in some communities a grove or river may be treated as spiritually significant, so respectful behavior and modest dress are expected.
