Swearing is generally frowned upon in public in Cyprus, especially in front of elders, families, or in formal settings, where blunt language can come across as rude or aggressive. Among close friends or in heated moments it may be used more freely, but strong profanity is still best avoided with strangers, in shops, and around service staff.
