Bargaining is generally limited to markets, souvenir stalls, and some independent shops, while prices in supermarkets, restaurants, taxis, and most fixed-price stores are not negotiable. In tourist areas you may get a small discount for cash or multiple items, but haggling is usually polite and light rather than aggressive, and in everyday local shopping it is not expected.
