In Cuba, people are generally comfortable with lively conversation, music, and street noise, so a normal social setting can feel much louder than in more reserved countries. In homes, buses, and late at night, though, it is still polite to lower your voice and avoid blasting music, especially in neighborhoods where neighbors live close together.
