Meat Etiquette in Burundi
Meat is usually eaten in modest amounts and is often reserved for special meals, celebrations, or when hosting guests rather than being the everyday center of the plate. Beef, goat, and chicken are the most common choices, and in rural areas many families rely more on beans, bananas, cassava, and fish from Lake Tanganyika than on meat.
