Being on time is expected for business meetings, appointments, and formal events in Bulgaria, and arriving a few minutes early is usually safest. Among friends or at casual gatherings there is a bit more flexibility, but showing up very late without warning is still seen as disrespectful, especially when someone has made plans around you.
