Swearing is generally kept low-key in public in Belize, especially around elders, family settings, and in small towns, where loud profanity can come across as rude or confrontational. In casual settings among friends you may hear English, Kriol, or Spanish profanity used more freely, but it is still best to avoid it with strangers, service staff, or in mixed company.
