Dining Etiquette in Argentina

Dinner is usually eaten late, often starting around 9 or 10 p.m., and it is normal for restaurants to stay busy well past midnight. Meals are social and unhurried, with long conversations over asado, empanadas, or a shared bottle of wine, and many families also gather for the late-afternoon merienda before dinner.
