Recycling Etiquette in Tajikistan

Recycling is still limited in everyday life, so travelers should not expect the kind of separate household sorting common in parts of Europe; use the bins provided and do not assume that paper, plastic, and glass are collected separately. In Dushanbe and a few larger cities you may see informal collection of bottles, cardboard, and scrap metal, but outside those areas waste is usually mixed and local recycling systems are patchy.
