bazaars, taxi fares without meters, and when buying carpets, fruit, or secondhand goods, but it should be done politely and with a smile rather than aggressively. In
Dushanbe and other cities, fixed prices are more common in shops and restaurants, while in traditional markets a little back-and-forth is expected and often ends with tea or a friendly chat.
