Always ask before photographing people, especially in townships, rural communities, markets, or during religious and family events, because many people consider unsolicited photos intrusive. In tourist areas and on public streets photography is usually fine, but avoid taking pictures of police, military sites, airports, border posts, and some government buildings without permission.
