Public displays of affection are usually kept modest in Paraguay, so holding hands or a quick kiss is generally fine but prolonged hugging, heavy kissing, or overtly sexual behavior in public can draw disapproval. In more traditional or family-oriented settings, especially outside Asunción, people tend to be noticeably reserved about affection in front of others.
