Punctuality Etiquette in Nepal

Being a little late is often tolerated in Nepal, especially for social visits, family gatherings, and informal meetings, so arrivals are usually treated more flexibly than in strictly time-bound cultures. For business, official appointments, and transport connections, though, people still expect you to be reasonably on time, and in Kathmandu and other urban areas punctuality is taken more seriously than in rural settings.
