Clothing Etiquette in Nepal

Dress modestly, especially outside tourist areas and when visiting homes, temples, and monasteries: cover shoulders and knees, and avoid very tight or revealing clothes. In cities you will see Western clothing, but traditional outfits like the daura suruwal for men and the gunyo cholo for girls are still worn for festivals and formal occasions, and shoes are usually removed before entering religious spaces or many households.
