Bargaining Etiquette in Nepal

Bargaining is normal in Nepal at street markets, souvenir shops, and with some taxi or rickshaw drivers, but it should be done politely and with a smile rather than aggressively. In places with fixed prices such as supermarkets, restaurants, and many urban shops, haggling is not expected, while in tourist areas a modest back-and-forth is often part of the interaction.
