Personal Space Etiquette in Maldives

People in the Maldives generally stand fairly close when talking, especially in local communities, so a little less personal space than many Western visitors expect is normal. In crowded places and on ferries or at markets, brief physical proximity is common, but in resorts staff still tend to respect a polite, unobtrusive distance.
