Dress and act modestly in public, especially in conservative neighborhoods and around religious sites, and keep loud arguments, public displays of affection, and overt intoxication to a minimum. In Beirut and other more cosmopolitan areas people may be more relaxed, but during Ramadan and in mixed or traditional settings it is still wise to be discreet and respectful.
