Physical touch is fairly common in Lebanon among friends and family, so
cheek kisses, handshakes, and a light touch on the arm while talking are normal once people are comfortable. Between men and women, people usually wait for the other person to initiate contact, and in more conservative or formal settings it is safer to keep greetings restrained until you see what locals do.
