Physical Touch Etiquette in Kuwait

Physical touch between unrelated men and women is usually kept very limited in Kuwait, so avoid initiating hugs, cheek kisses, or casual hand-holding unless the other person clearly starts it. Among same-sex friends and relatives, greetings can be warmer, but in public many people still prefer a restrained style and may use a verbal hello or a hand over the heart instead of direct contact.
