Photography Etiquette in Jordan

Always ask permission before photographing people, especially women, families, Bedouin hosts, and anyone in traditional dress, because many Jordanians consider unsolicited photos intrusive or disrespectful. It is also wise to avoid taking pictures of military sites, police, government buildings, and some religious spaces, and in tourist areas a small gesture of courtesy or a smile before raising the camera usually makes the interaction smoother.
