Meat Etiquette in Jamaica

Jamaicans commonly eat meat in hearty, well-seasoned dishes, with jerk chicken, curried goat, and oxtail especially popular at home, roadside stalls, and celebrations. Pork and beef are also common, but many people avoid eating meat on Fridays or during Lent if they are practicing Christians, and some Rastafarians follow an Ital diet that excludes meat altogether.
