Safety Etiquette in Bangladesh

Use normal urban caution in Bangladesh: keep valuables out of sight, avoid isolated areas after dark, and be especially careful with traffic because roads are crowded and crossing can be unpredictable. In Dhaka and other big cities, petty theft and scams are more common than violent crime, while during political rallies or strikes it is wise to stay away from demonstrations and follow local news closely.
