Physical Touch Etiquette in Bangladesh

Physical touch between unrelated men and women is usually kept to a minimum in public, so a handshake may be skipped unless the other person clearly offers one first. Among friends of the same gender, light handshakes or a brief touch on the shoulder are common, but public hugging, kissing, or overt displays of affection are generally avoided.
