Personal Space Etiquette in Bangladesh

Personal space is usually closer and more flexible in Bangladesh than many Western visitors expect, so brief crowding in queues, markets, buses, and family settings is normal and not meant as rudeness. In everyday interactions people may stand or sit quite near each other, while same-gender friends can be physically affectionate in public, but unrelated men and women generally keep more modest distance and avoid unnecessary touch.
