Tipping is not expected in Angola, but in restaurants and for hotel staff a small extra amount is appreciated if service was good, usually by rounding up the bill or leaving a modest cash tip. In Luanda and other urban areas, some higher-end places may add a service charge, so check the bill before tipping to avoid giving twice.
