Smoking is generally tolerated in Angola, but you should avoid lighting up in enclosed public places, government buildings, hospitals, and on public transport unless a designated area is clearly marked. In bars and informal social settings it may be more relaxed, yet asking first is still the polite move, especially around elders or in family homes where people may be less comfortable with smoke.
