Gender Norms Etiquette in Angola

Public life in Angola is still fairly traditional, so men are often expected to take the lead in conversation, business, and family decisions, while women may be judged more on modesty and family roles, especially outside Luanda. In cities the norms are changing quickly and many women work in professional settings, but in rural areas and older households it is still wise to be more formal and avoid assuming very casual gender mixing or behavior.
