Recycling Etiquette in Vanuatu

Recycling is not yet a strong everyday norm in Vanuatu, so visitors should not expect the same curbside sorting or bottle-return systems found in many larger countries. In Port Vila and a few tourist areas you may see limited collection points or community clean-up efforts, but on many islands waste is still handled informally, so it is best to carry your rubbish out and separate it only if a hotel or local program specifically asks you to.
