Tipping is expected in most service settings, and a standard restaurant tip is about 15–20% before tax, with 20% or more common for good service. It is also customary to tip bartenders, taxi or rideshare drivers, hotel bell staff, and hairdressers, while some counter-service places may show a tip jar or digital prompt but do not require a tip.
