Always ask before photographing people, especially elders and anyone in a church or village gathering, because taking pictures without permission can be seen as intrusive. On outer islands and during community events, people are often happy to pose once asked, but it is polite to avoid snapping homes, ceremonies, or children casually unless you have clear consent.
