Drinking Water Etiquette in Tuvalu

Tap water is not always reliably safe to drink in Tuvalu, so visitors usually rely on bottled water or water that has been boiled, filtered, or otherwise treated. On the outer islands especially, fresh water can be scarce and closely managed, so it is normal to ask your host or accommodation what source is safest before drinking.
