Smoking is generally accepted in public in Solomon Islands, but you should still avoid lighting up in crowded indoor spaces, churches, schools, and around elders unless you see others doing so first. In villages, it is polite to ask before smoking near a home or gathering, and many people prefer you step aside rather than smoke directly in front of a host or during a communal meal.
