Recycling Etiquette in Solomon Islands

Recycling is not yet a strong everyday norm in most of Solomon Islands, so visitors should not expect the kind of sorted curbside collection common in larger cities. In Honiara and a few organized workplaces or schools, people may separate bottles, cans, and cardboard when collection is available, but outside those settings waste is often burned, buried, or disposed of informally, so it helps to carry your rubbish until you find a proper bin.
