Recycling Etiquette in Senegal

Recycling is not yet a strong everyday norm in Senegal, so travelers should not expect widespread sorting of household waste or many public recycling bins outside some neighborhoods in Dakar and a few private initiatives. In practice, people often reuse containers, sell scrap or bottles to informal collectors, and rely on municipal pickup or dumping rather than the kind of curbside separation common in countries with established recycling systems.
