In Mozambique, toilets in cities and hotels are usually Western-style, but in rural areas and some budget places you may find squat toilets or simple latrines, so carry your own tissue or hand sanitizer because paper is often not provided. Do not flush paper unless there is a bin or a sign saying it is allowed, since plumbing can be weak and many places rely on septic systems or pit latrines.
